Remember the RSVP? It looks like it’s history.

This building was, once upon a time, where the parents of military cadets stayed when visiting their offspring. In an early 20th century advertisement it was called “A First Class Family and Private Hotel’. As well as ‘wines and cigars of the best quality and every convenience and comfort for visitors’ it also boasted ‘Excellent Motor Accommodation’. Difficult to believe that it ended up as night club……

We’ve been a bit slow off the mark.  For years, the Cambridge Hotel has also been called the RSVP, of course.

And recently we’ve commented on the fact that it’s just been re-painted.  But what we hadn’t noticed was that the name ‘RSVP’ has disappeared completely.
