1923 – and a smart car climbs up Church Hill……

What I really like about old postcards is the messages on the reverse! – here Mary Gibson writes to the Reverend Canon Bonding (?) from Crawley Hill House.  She is very happy and comfortable and remarks that ‘this is a lovely place and delightful garden’.  She had sent the card as it was a ‘a view of the hill we pass as we leave the house close to the church’.  Do you think she had been in service with the Canon before, and writes to tell him that she is happily settled in a new position?
