These two postcards are a bit of a mystery. They appear to come from the same set but, if you look closely at the pots of rhododendrons, they were not taken at the same time. Only one has a regular Post Card back markings and the other is completely blank. The card was posted in 1957 but the writer apologises, saying it was the only card she could find, so it may have been quite a bit older….
If you are member of any local historical groups on Facebook you may well have seen versions of these where people have ingeniously converted the negative images available in adverts on eBay. I had to do it the hard way – I bought the negatives and had the local camera shop print them. Thought you’d like to see them….
